We recently attended a Mayors for Peace event in Winchester. We wanted to show our support for Mayors for Peace in their efforts to cultivate peace consciousness and a culture of peace — a culture in which the everyday actions of each member of the public are grounded in thinking about peace — to take root in civil society as the foundation of lasting world peace. We were invited to make some Origami Peace Cranes and we carried on this activity at St. Peter’s hub later in the week and will do so again soon.
Cultivating peace and sanctuary go hand in hand. It was lovely to meet other organisations like Peace Jam who work with young people in awareness raising about the importance of promoting peace. We look forward to working more closely with our local community, Mayors for peace, Peace Jam and the Uni of Winchester on peace initiatives.
